The Inquiry into the Future for Lifelong Learning (IFLL), sponsored by NIACE, is holding an initial programme of dissemination seminars in the run up to the launch of its final report on 17 September.
 
The Inquiry will publish its Well-being and Happiness Thematic Paper on 1 June 2009.  The paper argues that education has a measurable impact on well-being, through all the stages of life. The papers considers the challenges for learning providers to make more of their contribution to wellbeing; for policy makers and providers to promote wellbeing through collaboration across policy areas such as health, employment, social policy, culture and the arts; and need to develop well-founded approaches to measurement.

The seminar will offer new perspectives on policy and practice in lifelong learning. It will be of interest to anyone seeking to ensure they organisation is well informed about future challenges and opportunities to embed lifelong learning in approaches to securing a better quality of life for individuals and communities.

  • Independent and third sector providers
  • Local Authorities
  • Those with an interest in public and mental health
  • Those with an interest in economic development and enterprise.
