Online Winter School on EU-Asia Relations, January 10-15, 2022
Greetings from the Manipal Centre for European Studies (MCES)! We are delighted to announce that MCES is organizing an Online Winter School on 'EU-Asia relations in a Multipolar World' under the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence project and in collaboration with the Nordic Centre in India (NCI) from January 10-15, 2022.
The theme of the Winter School is particularly relevant in the context of power diffusion from the ‘West’ to the East’, increasing multipolarity, a crisis of multilateralism and liberal values. In this shifting power dynamics, the EU and Asian countries are trying to redefine their role at the global stage. For this reason, we need to advance our understanding of EU-Asia relations beyond the existing great power politics narrative.
The Winter School will be a great opportunity to learn from experts and policymakers from Asia and Europe. It will serve as a forum for examining EU-Asia relations from a theoretical and policy perspective.
The Winter School is suitable for PhD scholars, early career researchers, policy practitioners, and students pursuing Masters in Area Studies, International Relations, Political Science from Europe, and Asia.
In this Winter School, we offer:
- An intensive and truly interactive online study experience (workshops, panel discussions, simulation games, quizzes, an interactive tour of EU institutions etc.)
- Certificate on completion
- Sessions by experts and policymakers from Asia and Europe
- 4 Credits on successful completion
Please note that there is no registration fee for the Winter School. However, the seats for the Winter School are limited and all the interested candidates are expected to demonstrate a high level of motivation and interest in their letter of intent.
