May I draw your attention to this recent publication about Widening Access to Higher Education in the UK which I am sure will be of interest to UALL Members.

Turnbull and Woolf (2022) Widening Access to Higher Education in the UK: Developments and Approaches Using Credit Accumulation and Transfer, OU Press

Summary description: Credit is intertwined with higher education around the world and this book introduces and analyses the long-term effects that this connection brings. Structured in three parts, the book is grounded in experience, practitioner research and detailed policy analysis. The greater availability of credit in higher education is closely tied to policies of widening access and this book addresses current issues including the consequences of Brexit, standards in higher education and the management of mobile student learning.

Here is the link to the book: https://www.mheducation.co.uk/widening-access-to-higher-education-in-the-uk-developments-and-approaches-using-credit-accumulation-9780335250592-emea-group

Also, news from SEEC that the descriptors are now also listed on the IfATE website as a resource for developing degree apprenticeships, see: https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/developing-new-apprenticeships/degree-apprenticeships-2022/

If you would like me to circulate anything on your behalf to our members do not hesitate to contact me via email or on my mobile.

Kind regards
