UIL is happy to inform PASCAL subscribers about its Snapshots publication concerning learning cities.

‘Snapshots of Learning Cities’ Responses to COVID-19’ is a collection of case studies that emerged from a 2020 webinar series. Featuring thirteen case studies across five themes, the publication delves into the process of establishing new initiatives when faced with a sudden crisis.

For each initiative, there is an overview of the objectives, process and challenges, and the conclusion of the publication identifies some emergent lessons for cities planning and implementing initiatives in response to COVID-19.

As its name suggests, this publication provides a snapshot of how cities were reacting to COVID-19 as the pandemic spread around the world. Now, one year later – a year during which many things have changed, yet we are still living through a global pandemic – its release provides an opportunity to reflect on how those responses have evolved

Including in the snapshot is work in the city of Glasgow, the base for the European centre for PASCAL.

Other cities profiled include Kashan, Santiago, Puebla, Espoo, Osan and Shanghai
