What changes the narrative?

This theme takes us outside PAC and PASCAL to ask how governance and opinion-forming occur nowadays. Who determines, and by what means how we think, what we believe and take for granted, what is on and off the agenda? What terms that we use are taken for granted? Who outside the PASCAL community listens to our discourse about learning and learning cities, then how do they act on what it suggests? If so, is this possibly local, piecemeal and gradualistic action of a kind that becomes a critical mass?

Big Tent – Draft 6th communique to discuss, finalise and release at the PASCAL Catania Conference in October.

PASCAL is a founder and lead player in the Big Tent initiative started in 2010. Here is a draft towards a communique for our Catania Conference in October. Please try to read and work and comment so we can get the best and strongest possible outcome – one that will be heeded and help to make a difference. We want something that will not be easily ignored. The Pope's new and unequivocal Encyclical sets the bar pretty high!

Escaping the Box

To escape the Box of current cultural assumptions and political practice, we must explore how uncover how these political and cultural processes work today. Perhaps then PASCAL and the Observatory can work more ‘with the grain’ to get results.
